There is a specific kind of hum that happens when the ground finally decides to wake up. It isn’t quiet, and it certainly isn't neat. It’s a stubborn, beautiful push: the deep purples of a long winter giving way to something brighter, with the light catching on every new edge like it’s seeing the world for the first time.
Vibrant Life is my attempt to bottle that momentum.
I painted this while thinking about the sheer audacity of Spring. I wanted to capture the texture of growth—the layers of grit and patience that happen underground before anything actually blooms. There is no "subject" here because life, when it’s really moving, doesn't stay in the lines. It’s just energy, movement, and enough gold leaf to remind us that the ordinary world is actually pretty spectacular if you look closely.
It’s messy, vibrant, and a little loud, much like my studio floor after a long week. But in all those thick layers and shimmering edges, I think there’s a quiet promise: that newness is always working its way to the surface, whether we’re ready for the change or not.
